Education: Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.):Current Industrial First Aid Certifications (Occupational First Aid - Level 3
Experience: more than 5 years experience in the field

Responsibilities:
The ability to manage safety meetings clarifying agreements, action required, and individual areas of accountability is a necessity.
Knowledge and understanding of current privacy legislation and requirements for safe handling of documentation and confidential information.
Proficiency with emergency response situations and hands on experience with emergency medical evacuations.
Education / training of camp personnel in First Aid and Health and Safety policies and procedures, and government regulatory requirements.
Establish on-site Occupational Health and Safety Committee and manage required duties.
Schedule and conduct regular on-site project safety meetings.
Audit all work activities / areas and monitor work habits for compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Inspect and audit all equipment and facilities including First Aid as required (pre-start up, etc.).
Encourage, complete and follow-up on incident reporting (near miss, hazards/incidents, significant incidents) to our head office and the appropriate regulatory bodies.
Submission of supplies inventory and reports to head office on a weekly basis.
Review with program manager on an ongoing basis the requirements for First Aid equipment on site.
Other Information:
Mandatory experience working in remote northern locations in an Industrial First Aid / Health and Safety role.
Current Industrial First Aid Certifications (Occupational First Aid - Level 3).
Registered with the Associations of First Aid Attendants.
Diploma in Health and Safety or a combination of courses and more than 5 years experience in the field.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
The ability to ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain diplomacy in the working environment and with all stakeholders is a must.
Understanding of compliance laws, regulations and regulatory bodies in relation to First Aid and Health and Safety.
A demonstrated background in training people with diverse cultural and skill sets is a necessity.
Must have skills focus on strong attention to detail, accuracy in filling out required documentation, and procedures associated with the position.
