OFABC - OCCUPATIONAL FIRST AID AND BULL COOK

We are looking for highly driven and experienced Bull Cooks to assist the First Cook in food preparation and maintain general cleanliness of the kitchen and dining area.
Key Responsibilities :
  • Assist the Cook in the food preparation including salads, sandwiches and baking
  • Replenishes condiments and other supplies at tables
  • Housekeeping including dishes, kitchen tables, counters and equipment
  • Assist with receiving and sorting of weekly grocery orders
  • Maintaining, sorting and cleaning of preparatory area
  • General cleaning duties as assigned by the 1st Cook including: removing trash and disinfecting containers, sweeping and mopping floors and washing dishes.
  • Take an active part in doing the grocery inventory
OFA Site Duties:
  • Attend to any and all first aid requirements
  • Conduct emergency medevac procedures
  • Orientation of all site residents to first aid and emergency procedures
  • Inventory and maintenance of first aid supplies
  • Maintain first aid room, equipment and supplies
  • Attendance at safety meetings/reporting of any Hazards
  • Weekly accident/incident/activities reporting to head office
Work Conditions:
Primarily remote camp location throughout Northern Canada with 10-12 hour work day on a 4 week in, 2 week out rotational schedule.
Requirements Include:
  • Minimum one year of food handling experience preferably in a remote camp environment
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Current OFA3 certification or equivalent (70 hour course) with AED
  • Technical knowledge: Valid Food Safe and WHMIS Certificates
  • Must be bondable
  • Adaptable to change with a genuine interest in preparing food
