COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
Being a company that services the remote resource industry, 1984 Enterprises Inc. is aware that the environment directly affects its inhabitants. Therefore we have adapted a community conscious way of thinking and working. 1984 Enterprises Inc., with the leadership of Jennifer Tompson, has initiated and implemented its Local Hire Success Training Program.

The Local Hire Success Training Program is designed to ensure that local communities always have the ability to take part in and benefit from projects located in their areas. Ensuring an equal opportunity of advancement for all who may be affected or involved. 1984 Enterprises Inc. strives to build progressive and rewarding relationships based on mutual respect and understanding between our clients and the communities in which we work. In utilizing our Local Hire Program the client becomes a positive force within the community and achieves their local hire mandate, all while strengthening their liaison with community leaders. The sponsoring of this Local Hire Program will introduce a wealth of cultural diversity and knowledge to your work force, as you gain community support.

The objective of The Local Hire Success Training Program is to provide comprehensive instruction to individuals on how to become proficient camp cook assistants. This program will familiarise trainees with “Food Safe” techniques, an understanding of WHIMIS, kitchen team orientation, food prep, house keeping and many more transferable skills. After completing their training, the individual will have gained confidence in knowing that their skills can be applied back into their community or working abroad.

Through our innovative hands-on approach to training, we have successfully completed our Local Hire Success Training Program throughout many of the First Nations communities in Canada. 1984 Enterprises Inc. has been proud to assist in the proactive growth within the Iqaluit and the Kugluktuk communities of Nunavut, the Tuktoyaktuk and Kitikmeot communities of the North West Territories, and the Tahltan and Kwanika communities of BC, just to name a few.

1984 Enterprises Inc. strives to build cohesive working communities—putting people first helps to reinforce our mission of creating a safe and productive work environment for everyone.
